ELZA RAMADANI
Elza Ramadani is the founder and Executive Director of the Animal Rights Foundation (ARF) Kosovo, a leading organisation dedicated to improving the welfare and protection of animals across the country. Since 2018, she has been at the forefront of legal reforms, policy advocacy, and on-the-ground initiatives to protect companion animals, wildlife, and the environment.
Through her work, her team and Elza have successfully influenced legislative changes, strengthened cooperation between national and local institutions, and led awareness-raising campaigns promoting responsible companion animal husbandry and humane dog population management. ARF is also engaged in international collaborations with organisations such as Four Paws, Eurogroup for Animals, Tier im Recht (Switzerland), LAV (Italy) and Naturewatch Foundation, ensuring that Kosovo’s progress in animal welfare aligns with European and global standards.
In addition to her role at ARF, Elza was recently appointed as an External Political Advisor to the Prime Minister of Kosovo on animal welfare and stray dog management, where she continues to shape national strategies and policies to safeguard animal rights. With a strong belief in education and community engagement, she works tirelessly to build a culture of compassion, coexistence, and respect for all living beings.
