NAICA ODV, in co-organisation with the Municipality of Trieste, presents WORLD ANIMAL DAY TRIESTE 2026, taking place on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 October, from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, in Viale Romolo Gessi, Trieste, Italy.
This free event, open to everyone, will celebrate the relationship between people, animals and nature. The programme will include stands run by associations, entirely plant-based street food, a creative market, a children’s play area, games with the Clown Doctors, activities with dog training schools, educational walks, live performances by street musicians, and wellbeing sessions featuring Nada Yoga and Forest Bathing.
Special attention will be given to the inclusion of deaf, blind and visually impaired people through accessible activities, sensory experiences and talks at Cinema Ariston with Italian Sign Language – LIS interpretation.
Activities will include “The Forest to Touch”, a sensory journey exploring nature through touch; “Listen with Your Hands”, which allows participants to experience animal sounds through vibrations; the WAD Passport, guiding visitors through the different activities; and the Kindness Tree, where everyone can choose an act of kindness to make a personal commitment.
The programme will also include talks and the screening of a documentary film at Cinema Ariston.
